Packing/Freight

• Packing: Pieces are crated or boxed together whenever practical resulting in reduced crating and packing fees. Chandeliers: Canopy & chain are packaged in a small box packed inside the larger chandelier box/crate. Sconces: Hardware is attached to the sconce. When possible sconces are boxed w/ chandeliers. Shades: Shades are always packed in a separate box. When possible the shade box is packed inside the larger box containing the fixture.
• Quotes: Please fax or email for packing /freight estimates. Please completely fill out the Packing & Freight Request Form (PDF). Shipping charges depend on the size, weight and destination of a shipment. Items are shipped via UPS whenever size and weight permit. Larger items including all beds must ship to a receiver. Domestic quotes are valid for 60 days.
• Airfreight: Airfreight from France may be possible for rush orders and reduces the lead time by approximately 6 weeks. Please contact us for a quote. International quotes are valid for 30 days.
• Residential Delivery: Even if a business is located in a home or residential community the delivery would still be defined as “residential”. Residential delivery does not include unpacking or installation. Larger shipments require a loading dock and must ship to a receiving warehouse.
• Special Delivery Needs: Specific delivery needs can often be accommodated. Please submit a written request through your showroom. Clients who provide their own freight arrangements will be charged a minimum $50 fee.
• Freight Damage: In order to minimize cost and maximize the efficient use of packing materials all shipments MUST be inspected for loss, damage, defects, errors and or shortages upon delivery. Whoever receives the shipment is responsible for the inspection. We are not responsible for damage to product that occurs in transit or in storage. Note that damage in shipping can occur even if the container looks fine. Loss, damage, defects, errors and or shortages must be reported to Ironware by your showroom rep within 15 calendar days from the date of delivery. All merchandise must be retained in the original shipping container and in the same condition it was in when loss or damage was discovered until inspected by the carrier. No claims can be made on merchandise that has been repaired or moved from the orginal delivery location prior to inspection by the carrier or approval by Ironware. Failure of receiver to notify us during the 15 calendar days will constitute acceptance of the product and waiver of any apparent defects, errors or short comings.
